Introduction
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the IslamIQ mobile application ("App", "Services"), operated by Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited ("Company", "we", "us", "our").
By downloading, accessing, or using IslamIQ, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Eligibility & Age Requirements
IslamIQ is a religious and educational app suitable for all ages, including children. Core features (Quran, Hadith, Insights, prayer times, Qibla) can be used without an account.
To access AI conversations and Premium Insights, an account is required. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts without parental consent, in accordance with COPPA.
Account Registration
You may create an account using email/password or Sign in with Apple/Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
Services Provided
IslamIQ provides:
Full Quran with multiple reciters
Authenticated Hadith collections with authenticity grading
Prayer times and Qibla direction
A library of duas and a Dua Vault
Insights, long-form pieces drawn from classical Islamic scholarship
AI-generated conversations with educational simulations of classical scholars, grounded in their own written works
Ask IslamIQ, an AI feature answering questions using retrieval-augmented generation grounded in the Quran, Hadith, and classical scholarship
Subscription & Billing
5.1 ILM Credits System
ILM Credits are used for AI-powered features (Ask IslamIQ, Scholar Conversations). Free accounts receive 100 ILM Credits monthly. Premium accounts receive 10,000 ILM Credits monthly. Unused ILM Credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over.
5.2 Premium Subscription — Normal Pricing
Monthly: $9.99/month
3-Month: $24.99 (billed every 3 months)
Yearly: $79.99/year
5.3 Premium Subscription — Special Offer Pricing
From time to time, IslamIQ may offer limited-time discounted pricing to eligible users:
Monthly: $7.49/month (25% off)
3-Month: $17.49 (30% off)
Yearly: $48.99/year (39% off)
Special offer pricing is time-limited and available only to eligible users as determined by IslamIQ. Prices are displayed in the app at the time of purchase.
5.4 No Free Trials
IslamIQ does not currently offer free trials for Premium subscriptions.
5.5 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
5.6 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect.
5.7 Rewarded Video Ads
Free users may access rewarded video ads (via Google AdMob) to earn additional ILM Credits. There is no daily cap on rewarded video ads.
Refunds
All subscription purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law or the Apple App Store / Google Play Store refund policies.
Exceptions: We may provide refunds at our sole discretion in the following circumstances:
Technical issues prevent access to the service for more than 7 consecutive days
Duplicate or erroneous charges
Unauthorized purchases (subject to verification)
Refund requests must be submitted to support@islamiq.co.uk within 30 days of the charge. Refunds, if granted, will be processed within 14 business days. To request a refund directly through the platform, contact Apple or Google through your purchase history.
AI-Powered Conversations
7.1 Educational Simulations
"Talk to Scholars" provides AI-generated conversations simulating classical Islamic scholars (e.g., Imam Al-Ghazali, Ibn Taymiyyah). These are educational AI simulations, grounded only in each scholar's own written works. They are not the scholars themselves, and are not fatwa-issuing authorities.
7.2 Ask IslamIQ
Ask IslamIQ uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) grounded in the Quran, authenticated Hadith, and classical Islamic scholarship. Responses are generated by AI and are not a substitute for guidance from a qualified scholar.
7.3 Not Religious Rulings
IslamIQ is an educational tool, not a fatwa-issuing authority. For personal religious rulings, consult a qualified local scholar.
7.4 AI Provider
IslamIQ uses a third-party AI provider to power conversational features. Your questions may be processed on servers located outside your home country. We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
Chat History & Data
Your conversation history is stored until you choose to delete it. You may delete individual conversations or your entire chat history at any time from within the app. We do not analyze your conversations to improve our AI models.
Advertising
Free users may see rewarded video ads via Google AdMob. Ads are non-personalized. AdMob may collect device ID, ad interaction data, IP address, and approximate (not precise) location for ad delivery purposes.
Location Data
Location access is used to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. Access depends on the permission level you grant on your device ('Always' or 'While Using the App'). Location data is not stored; it is processed in real time and discarded.
User Conduct
You agree not to:
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the App's underlying data or AI models
Use automated means to scrape or extract content from the App
Impersonate any person or entity
Harass, abuse, or harm other users or Sirat Studio staff
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, AI systems, and original content, is owned by Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited. Quranic text, Hadith, and classical scholarly works referenced in the App are used under applicable rights for religious and educational content. IslamIQ does not claim ownership of these classical texts.
Third-Party Services
IslamIQ uses third-party services including Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and analytics; a third-party AI provider for conversational features; Google AdMob for advertising; Google AI Studio for voice narration; and Hetzner for server hosting (Germany).
Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through Settings within the App. Upon deletion, your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Data Retention
Your account and associated data remain stored for as long as your account is active. We do not currently delete accounts based on inactivity. You may delete your account and data at any time.
Disclaimer of Warranties
IslamIQ is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that AI-generated responses will be error-free or complete. Always verify important religious matters with a qualified scholar.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@islamiq.co.uk to attempt informal resolution. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved in the courts of Islamabad, Pakistan. Both parties consent to jurisdiction and venue in these courts.

App Store Specific Terms
For users downloading IslamIQ via the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
21.1 Acknowledgment
This agreement is concluded between you and Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited only, and not with Apple. Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. These Terms do not conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
21.2 Scope of License
Your license to use the App is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by Apple's Usage Rules, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
21.3 Maintenance and Support
Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the App. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App.
21.4 Warranty
Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited is solely responsible for any product warranties. In the event the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are the sole responsibility of Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited.
21.5 Product Claims
Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
21.6 Intellectual Property
In the event of a third-party claim that the App infringes that party's intellectual property rights, Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
21.7 Legal Compliance
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting," and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
21.8 Third-Party Terms
You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App (for example, your mobile carrier's data service agreement).
