Welcome to IslamiQ ("the App"), a product of Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited, a company registered in Pakistan (Business Registration: 0323742).

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the IslamiQ mobile application and related services (collectively, "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Important: IslamiQ provides educational Islamic knowledge through AI-powered conversations with classical scholars. Our Services are NOT a substitute for qualified religious scholars, muftis, or imams. Always consult qualified religious authorities for important religious matters.

2. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, downloading, accessing, or using IslamiQ, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms within the App and update the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

3. Eligibility & age requirements

All Ages Welcome

IslamiQ is designed as an educational Islamic application suitable for all ages. However:

  • Users under 13 years old should use the App under parental supervision

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the App

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent

Account Responsibility

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Account registration

You may create an account using:

  • Email and password

  • Apple Sign-In

  • Google Sign-In

Account Information

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information

  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate

  • Not impersonate any person or entity

  • Not create multiple accounts to abuse free services

Account Security

  • You are responsible for safeguarding your password

  • We use Firebase Authentication for secure account management

  • We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with security obligations

  • Daily Quran reading and listening

  • Hadith collections

  • Prayer times (based on location)

  • Qibla direction

  • Limited AI conversations (10 ILM Credits per month)

  • Limited access to curated Insights

Premium Services (Subscription Required)

  • 10,000 ILM Credits per month (1,000 AI questions)

  • Unlimited conversations with AI-powered classical scholars

  • Full access to all Premium Insights (audio & text)

  • Ad-free experience

  • Priority support

Rewarded Video Ads (Free Users)

  • Free users may watch optional video advertisements to earn additional ILM Credits

  • 1 video ad = 1 additional ILM Credit

  • Unlimited ads available per month

ILM Credits System

  • Free users: 10 ILM Credits per month (10 AI questions)

6. Subscription & billing

Subscription Plans

We offer the following subscription plans:

Normal Pricing:

  • Monthly: $9.99/month

  • 3-Month: $24.99 (billed every 3 months)

  • Yearly: $79.99/year (save 33% vs monthly)

Special Offer Pricing (Limited Time):

  • Monthly: $7.49/month

  • 3-Month: $17.49 (billed every 3 months)

  • Yearly: $48.99/year (save 59% vs regular monthly)

Payment Processing

  • All payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store

  • We do not store your credit card information

  • Billing is handled entirely by Apple/Google

  • Prices are in USD and may vary by region

No Free Trials

Auto-Renewal

  • All subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date

  • Your subscription continues until you cancel

Cancellation

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time

  • To cancel:

    • iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → IslamiQ → Cancel Subscription

    • Android: Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → IslamiQ → Cancel Subscription

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period

  • You retain access to premium features until the end of the paid period

  • No partial refunds for unused time

Price Changes

  • We reserve the right to change subscription prices

7. Refunds

  • Refunds may be issued at our discretion for technical issues or billing errors

  • Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase

  • Refunds are processed through Apple/Google and may take 5-10 business days

OPTION C (Generous - Highest Customer Satisfaction):

  • We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee

  • If you're not satisfied, contact us within 30 days for a full refund

  • Refunds processed through Apple/Google support

Recommended: OPTION A (protects revenue, aligns with Apple/Google policies)

Exceptions

  • Refunds may be required by law in certain jurisdictions (EU, California, etc.)

  • We comply with all applicable consumer protection laws

8. AI-Powered conversations

How It Works

  • IslamiQ uses OpenAI's GPT-4o mini API to power AI conversations

  • Responses are grounded in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) using 100+ authenticated classical Islamic books

Verification Status

Each AI response indicates:

  • ✅ Verified: Answer found in authenticated classical sources

  • ⚠️ General: Answer from AI general knowledge (not authenticated)

AI Limitations & Disclaimers

IMPORTANT: You acknowledge and agree that:

  1. AI Can Make Mistakes

    • AI-generated responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or incomplete information

    • Always verify important information with qualified scholars

  2. Not Official Religious Rulings

    • IslamiQ does NOT provide official fatwas, religious rulings, or legal opinions

    • AI responses are educational and informational only

    • For important religious matters, consult qualified scholars, muftis, or imams

  3. Not a Substitute For:

    • Qualified Islamic scholars

    • Imams or religious authorities

    • Medical professionals

    • Legal advisors

    • Financial advisors

    • Mental health professionals

  4. No Warranty of Accuracy

    • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI responses

    • Use AI responses at your own discretion and risk

  5. Verify Before Acting

    • Always verify AI responses with authentic sources before making important decisions

    • Cross-reference with trusted scholars, books, or religious authorities

9. User content & data

Chat History

  • No comments, reviews, or shared notes are currently supported

Data Ownership

  • By using our Services, you grant us a license to:

    • Store and display your conversations within your account

    • Use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our Services

Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use IslamiQ to:

  • Generate harmful, illegal, or offensive content

  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity

  • Abuse the Services (spam, automated access, etc.)

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer our technology

10. Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content, features, and functionality of IslamiQ are owned by Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited and are protected by:

  • Copyright laws

  • Trademark laws

  • Other intellectual property rights

Classical Texts

  • Classical Islamic texts used in our RAG system are in the public domain

  • Original Arabic books are OCR'd and translated using AI

  • Some translations may be original works by Sirat Studio

AI-Generated Content

  • AI responses are generated dynamically and are not pre-written

  • We do not claim exclusive copyright over AI-generated text

  • However, the selection, arrangement, and presentation of content is our intellectual property

Insights & Audio

  • Original Insights (text and audio) are created by Sirat Studio

  • Audio narration is generated using Chatterbox Voice AI

  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission

User License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes

  • View and listen to content within the App

You may NOT:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute our content

  • Use our content for commercial purposes

  • Remove copyright or proprietary notices

11. Advertising

Ad-Free Experience (Premium Users)

  • Premium subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience

  • No advertisements are shown to paying customers

Rewarded Video Ads (Free Users)

  • Free users may voluntarily watch video advertisements to earn ILM Credits

  • Ads are served through Google AdMob

Halal Content Filtering

  • We make commercially reasonable efforts to filter advertisements for halal content

  • We block categories including: dating apps, alcohol, gambling, adult content, interest-based financial services

  • However, we cannot guarantee 100% halal compliance due to automated ad serving

  • If you see inappropriate content, please report it via: info@islamiq.co.uk

Ad Data Collection

  • Ad networks (Google AdMob) may collect:

    • Device identifiers (Advertising ID)

    • Ad interaction data (clicks, views)

Opt-Out

  • Disabling notifications may affect your user experience

15. Privacy & data protection

16. Account deletion

How to Delete

  • Go to: Settings → Account → Delete Account

  • Or email: info@islamiq.co.uk with "Delete My Account" in subject line

What Happens

  • Your account is permanently deleted

  • All personal data is removed from our systems

  • Chat history, saved items, and settings are erased

  • This action cannot be undone

Data Retention After Deletion

  • We do NOT retain any personal data after account deletion

  • Anonymized, aggregated analytics may be retained for business purposes

  • We may retain payment records as required by law (tax, fraud prevention)

17. Inactive accounts

  • Accounts inactive for 1 year may be automatically deleted

  • You will receive email notice 30 days before deletion

  • Login to your account to prevent deletion

18. Disclaimer & Limitation OF Liability

NO WARRANTIES

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement

  • Warranties that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure

  • Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI responses

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited, its directors, employees, and affiliates SHALL NOT BE LIABLE for any indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages

  • This includes: loss of profits, data loss, personal injury, or property damage

  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Services in the 12 months before the claim

Exceptions

  • Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on warranties or liability

  • In such cases, the above limitations may not apply to you

19. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sirat Studio SMC Private Limited, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Services

  • Your violation of these Terms

  • Your violation of any third-party rights

  • Any content you submit or actions you take using the Services

20. Termination

By You

  • You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account

  • Active subscriptions will continue until the end of the billing period

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services:

  • If you violate these Terms

  • If we detect fraudulent or abusive activity

  • If required by law

  • If we discontinue the Services (with 30 days notice)

Effect of Termination

  • You lose access to premium features immediately

  • No refunds for unused subscription time (unless required by law)

  • Obligations that survive termination: Indemnification, Limitation of Liability, Dispute Resolution

21. Governing law & dispure resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved in the courts of Islamabad, Pakistan.

Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at info@islamiq.co.uk to attempt informal resolution.

Arbitration (Optional - Choose One)

  • Arbitration shall be conducted in Islamabad, Pakistan

  • The arbitrator's decision is final and binding

  • Class Action Waiver: You agree to bring claims individually, not as part of a class action

Recommended: OPTION A (simpler for small business, easier to enforce)

22. Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sirat Studio regarding the Services.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.

Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms to any successor or affiliate.

No Agency

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, war, government actions, etc.).

Apple App Store

  • These Terms are between you and Sirat Studio, not Apple

  • Apple is not responsible for the App or its content

  • Apple has no warranty obligations

  • Apple is not responsible for addressing claims related to the App

  • Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them

Google Play Store

  • These Terms are between you and Sirat Studio, not Google

  • Google is not responsible for the App or its content

  • Google has no warranty obligations

  • You comply with all applicable Google Play Store policies

Acknowlegment

BY USING ISLAMIQ, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS OF SERVICE.
